Pools and Lazy River
1. Pools
- Laguna Pool– family-friendly, zero-grade entry, heated

- Kid’s Cove– heated, aquatic playscape, children under 6 must be accompanied by a guardian
2. Lazy River
The lazy river at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa is a heated river with a calm current that winds through the Tidal Cove water park area. The sides of the lazy river are tiled like a traditional pool (not rocks). This is an oval-shaped lazy river on the smaller side. There is a bridge you go under, riverside loungers/cabanas, and palm trees. It does not connect to other pool areas.
3. Beach Area
There is not a sandy beach area at JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa. However, the resort pool has a zero-grade entry area.
4. Slides
There are several water slides at JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa
- AquaDrop – free fall body slide, rider minimum 48″
- Boomerang – 2-4 riders in a large circular tube, rider minimum 48″
- Constrictor – 1-2 riders in a tube travel through a classic tube ride, rider minimum 48″
- Master Blaster – 1-2 riders in a tube travel on a watercoaster with uphill sections, rider minimum 48″
- Whizzard – 1 rider on a body mat on an enclosed slide with turns and small drop, rider minimum 42″
- Flow Rider – body boarding on an artificial wave, 3 bays with 1 rider per bay, rider minimum 48″
- Kid’s Cove Aquatic Playscape – small slides in the playscape, minimum 36″, kids under 6 must be accompanied
5. Lounge Area
There are several poolside loungers and there are also private cabanas available for rent.
6. Food/Drinks
There are two options for poolside dining at Tidal Cove. Surf House Bar and Grill offers a full-service bar and restaurant along with poolside wait service. Try the Salmon BLT – trust us! The other poolside dining option is Freestyle offering a quick-service snack shack with breakfast and lunch items as well.
Child Care
JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa works with a third party company to provide child care in the itavi program. The cost for 1-4 children is $290/ four hours and for 5-8 children is $580/ four hours. The itavi childcare program includes playtime, exercise, learning, and crafts.
Golf
There are two courses at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa. Both the Soffer Course and The Miller Course are 18-hole, par 70 courses with stunning tropical Miami landscaping.

Restaurants
1. Corsair Kitchen and Bar
Modern American from locally sourced ingredients with golf course views. Casual attire, Open Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. We enjoyed the shrimp scampi and burger options.
2. Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina
Elegant Seafood and Steakhouse located off the main lobby. Formal attire. Open for dinner nightly.
3. Surf House Bar & Grill
Poolside Bar and Grill located in Tidal Cove water park area. Open 11 am – 5:30 pm daily. Poolside service available too. The Salmon BLT and the Asian Chicken crunch salad are amazing!
4. Freestyle
Quick serve American classics and snack bar in Tidal Cove water park area. Open 9 am – 5:30 pm daily.
5. Starbucks
Classic coffee house you know and love located in the lobby, open 6 am – 6 pm.
6. Soff’s Lobby Lounge
Old Miami-inspired lounge serving craft cocktails and live music with relaxing velvet couches, open daily 4 pm – late
Accommodations
1. Rooms
The JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa offers a variety of accommodation options.
Guest Rooms can have either 1 King or 2 Queen beds. There is an option of resort, golf, or ocean views, as well as a high floor request.
Suites are larger with 1-2 bedrooms. They offer more space as many have separate living and dining rooms.
2. Amenities
In-room coffee maker, bottled water, upgraded bath products. There is a mini fridge stocked with mini bar items. Because it has a weight sensor, you are not permitted to put your own items in the fridge without incurring a (pretty hefty) fee.
3. Pets
Dogs are welcome at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa with a $250 fee. There is a limit of 2 dogs, max 25lbs. No cats are permitted.
Spa

We booked a spa package at the resort that included an 80-minute aromatherapy massage. The massage and spa area was lovely, although the steam rooms were broken during our visit.
Upon receiving our folio after checkout, we were mistakenly charged for the massages and I had to call the resort and spa to sort it out. Moral of the story is, if you book a package – check your folio and check out with the front desk to ensure everything is charged correctly!
