The Reach Key West is a stunning beachfront family-friendly resort located on the quieter Atlantic side of Key West but still within walking (or better yet, cycling) distance of all the hot spots! We saw an absolutely stunning moonrise over the water here one night that we’ll always remember! Hawks Cay Resort is located on Duck Key in the Florida Keys. It is a nice resort with fantastic family-friendly amenities. There are 5 pools including a kids pool with a pirate ship aquatic playground and one that offers the perfect view of those South Floridian sunsets. There is also an ocean-fed salt water lagoon where guests can enjoy kayaking and SUP boarding. However, it’s perhaps most well-known for the friendly pod of bottlenose dolphins that lives in the lagoon and offers opportunities for guests to observe and even swim with the dolphins! There are several restaurants on site that range from no frills to fancy so you’re sure to find a place that’s perfect for your family vacation.

One of our family’s favorite things about this resort is the family suites with bunk beds for the kids – is there anything more fun than a bunk bed? The resort is on a pristine stretch of the white, sugar sand beach that Destin is known for. There are 2 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool to enjoy as well. The resort has multiple restaurants so you can choose between steak, sushi, or more casual American options.

1. Sandpiper Bay Resort– Port St. Lucie, Florida (Central East Coast)

The Sandpiper Bay Resort is a family-friendly, all-inclusive resort located in Port St. Lucie on the St. Lucie River, about a 10 minute drive from the Atlantic coast of Florida, a little over an hour north of West Palm Beach. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the zero-grade entry resort pool or a day on the river while sailing, paddle boarding, or kayaking. Break a sweat playing pickleball, volleyball, or basketball then cool of at the adults-only infinity pool… all while enjoying all-inclusive food and drinks!

This resort is currently undergoing extensive renovations, with limited amenities open currently. We can’t wait to check out the resort’s new and improved features when they reopen in 2025!

What we Love about it:

2. JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa– Aventura, FL (Miami Area)

JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa is located just north of Miami in Aventura, Florida. The resort has a lazy river that’s on the smaller side but has lush landscaping to make it a relaxing float. The lazy river is part of a water park next to the hotel that you can easily reach by walking that also includes 7 water slides (yes, you read that correctly), and a 4,000 square foot kid’s pool with an emoji-themed aquatic play structure, a large resort pool, and a Flow Rider Triple with simulated surfing for 3 guests at a time. When you’re done with the pool activities, the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort also has golf, a spa, great dining, and close proximity to the beach!

What we Love:

  • Emoji-themed aquatic playscape for the kiddos
  • SEVEN water slides, a lazy river, and simulated surfing
  • Not a beachfront property, but there is an option for ocean view rooms

The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa is located in Bonita Springs, close to Naples in Southwest Florida. The resort water park includes a lazy river7 water slidesmultiple pools, and poolside dining. Another bonus of this resort is Camp Coconut, a supervised childcare program for kids aged 3-12 that can be booked in morning, afternoon, full day, or evening sessions. There is a private island that guests can visit to enjoy some beach time and explore the local ecosystem.

4. Bungalows Key Largo, Key Largo, Florida (Keys Area)

The  Bungalows Key Largo is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort located on Key Largo in the Florida Keys. It is about an hour and half south of Miami, FL and 2 hours north of Key West along the scenic Overseas Highway (US 1). The all-inclusive rate includes lodging, dining, alcoholic beverages, and resort activities. Activities guests will enjoy on the property include two swimming pools, 2 hot tubs, beach loungers, and water sports like kayaks, paddle boards, and a two-person water tricycle (so fun!). Spa treatments and excursions are not included in the nightly rate. We did not do any of the excursions but we heard great things about the sunset cruise from fellow guests. We did pay a fee to access the property early at noon, which we thought was well worth it as we only stayed one night. The property is strict about the time you are able to access the property on your check in (4 pm) and check out (11 am) days.

What We Love Most About It:

  • Adults-only resort with private outdoor soaking tub and spacious accommodations
  • All-inclusive rates include loding, meals, alcoholic beverages, resort amenities, and non-motorized water sports
